Giriama Dance & Food
Spend an afternoon with a Giriama family near camp — watch traditional drumming and dance, learn a few steps yourself, and share a home-cooked coastal meal of coconut rice, fish and greens grown right on the homestead.
Bird & Butterfly Walk
A gentle, guided walk through the bush and valley edges around camp, spotting coastal birdlife and butterflies with a local guide who knows every call and clearing. A quiet, green counterpoint to the beach and the bush.
Boat Trips & Snorkelling
Sail out on a traditional dhow for a sundowner cruise on Kilifi Creek, or head to Watamu Marine National Park to snorkel over coral gardens and reef fish in clear, warm water.
Local Communities
Visit local homesteads and small enterprises around Nyari and Marafa, meet the people who call this valley home, and support community-run initiatives directly through your visit.
Marafa Depression – Hell's Kitchen
A short drive from camp, the Marafa Depression — known locally as Hell's Kitchen — is a striking canyon of red, orange and white sandstone cliffs, best seen at sunset when the colours deepen.
Sunset Over Nyari Valley
Camp sits at the edge of the Nyari valley, and the sundowner spot on the ridge is where most evenings end — palms and flame trees silhouetted against a sky that turns gold, then pink, then violet.
